In pictures: Snow and ice continues to cover country amid stormy conditions

Met Office ‘be aware’ warnings were in place across the west and south of Scotland until Thursday morning.

Wintry conditions continue to lie across much of the country as stormy conditions caused problems for motorists.

Parts of Scotland were given Met Office warnings with Police Scotland advising against travelling out in the snow.
