In Video: How police officer became ‘The Hoff’ after daring river rescue

The waters of the River Irwell are a lot colder than Malibu but the Greater Manchester Police student was undeterred.

Greater Manchester may not be Malibu but the Hardy’s Gate Bridge was the scene of a rescue that could have come straight out of Baywatch.

Student police officer Mohammed Nadeem showed nerves of steel to brave the bracing temperatures of the River Irwell to assist a man in distress, thus earning himself the nickname “The Hoff”, after the beach drama’s lead actor David Hasselhoff.
