British Transport Police are investigating after a bus stolen from Ramsgate station was crashed

Joyriders have crashed a double-decker bus into a garden wall, some parked cars and a lamppost after it was stolen from a railway station.

Two men were spotted running away from the crash scene in Grange Road, Ramsgate, Kent, at 3.45am on Saturday.

The bus was due to be used as a replacement bus service before it was stolen from Ramsgate railway station, Kent Police said.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 3.45am this morning after a double-decker bus crashed into a garden wall in Grange Road, Ramsgate.

"It had also collided with a lamp-post and some parked cars. Two men were seen to run off."

Officers from the force are working with British Transport Police to catch the offenders. Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 101.
