Labour's lead in the opinion polls has fallen away while support for Ukip has hit a new high, according to a new survey.
The ComRes poll for The Independent showed support for Labour has slumped five points to 30% since last month - the party's lowest rating under Ed Miliband.
It leaves them level-pegging with the Conservatives who are up one on the month.
At the same time backing for Ukip has jumped four points to 19% - one point above their previous highest rating in a ComRes telephone poll in June.
The Liberal Democrats are down one point on 9%, the Greens unchanged on 4% and others unchanged on 7%.
:: ComRes interviewed 1,002 GB adults by telephone between October 24 and 26.
