Man, 21, arrested over boy's death
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a three-year-old boy who died in hospital.
Police launched a murder inquiry after Dylan Crean was found with life-threatening injuries at a property in Albert Village, Swadlincote, on the Derbyshire-Leicestershire border, on Tuesday afternoon.
A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: "Police were called by the ambulance service at approximately 4.55pm on Tuesday August 30 to an address in Albert Village after it was reported that the child, a boy, had sustained life-threatening injuries."
He was taken to Derby Royal Infirmary and later moved to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham where, despite the efforts of medical teams, he died on Wednesday afternoon, the force said.
Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the incident and he remains in police custody for questioning.
