Man and woman hurt in cow stampede

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being trampled by a herd of cows.

West Midlands Ambulance said one of the victims was airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham from the scene of the incident on a farm between Leddington and Ledbury, Herefordshire, on Friday.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "A man in his sixties had a chest injury and suspected arm and pelvic injuries.

"Oxygen and fluids were administered and he was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar, and was flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

"A woman, believed to be in her fifties, had a chest injury and suspected fractured ribs, and was taken by land ambulance to Hereford County Hospital."
