Man arrested under Explosives Act
Police have erected a cordon around a house in a seaside town after arresting a man under the Explosives Act.
A 100m exclusion zone was established around the property in Beatty Way in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, while experts checked the area was safe.
A 36-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody for questioning after police executed a warrant under the Explosives Act at 7.45am on Friday.
Avon and Somerset Police advised people to avoid the area and warned that some residents might have to be evacuated from their homes "as a precautionary measure".
"We will be doing everything we can to minimise disruption to people's daily lives, but public safety must be our top priority," police said in a statement.
