Man becomes second charged with murder of 16-year-old stabbed in street
Ozell Pemberton was confirmed dead at the scene in Sutton Coldfield and a 17-year-old has already been remanded in custody over the offence.
A man has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy who was found stabbed in the street.
Ozell Pemberton was discovered gravely injured and confirmed dead at the scene after the incident at around 3.30pm on May 17.
The teenager was stabbed once in the heart during a fracas outside McDonald’s in Sutton Coldfield town centre, West Midlands.
Oscar Ingram, 21, has been charged with his murder and has been remanded into custody after appearing at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday, West Midlands Police said.
The charge comes after a 17-year-old boy was remanded on Tuesday for the same offence.
Two teenagers, aged 17 and 13, have been released on bail while police continue their investigations, the force said.
Ozell’s parents said in a statement: “Our special boy, Ozell, was one of a kind. A loving, respectful, funny, bubbly and courageous boy who always saw the bright side of life.
“He had a strong head on him and was wise beyond his years. He was independent and wanted to make his own way in life.”
