Man charged over eviction shootings
A man is due to appear in court on Friday after two people were shot as they tried to evict a tenant from a house.
Andrew Stephenson, 50, is charged with three counts of attempted murder following the incident in Strathleven Road in Brixton, south London, on Wednesday morning.
He is also charged with a series of firearms offences and will appear at Camberwell Magistrates' Court on Friday.
A bailiff in his 60s and a 59-year-old income officer for Metropolitan Housing suffered gunshot wounds after attempting to force a man to leave a property, the Metropolitan Police said.
Officers were called at around 9.50am on Wednesday, and forced entry to the home. A gun was later discovered, police confirmed.
The condition of the pair who were shot is unknown, but the force said their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
In addition to attempted murder, Stephenson has also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life; possession of a prohibited firearm; and possession of ammunition for a section 1 firearm without a certificate, police said.
