A man has been charged following two car thefts in the same street left the owners sprawled on the ground.
Tommy Kelbie, 25, has been charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, having no insurance and causing actual bodily harm by wanton and furious driving.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said Kelbie, of Greenacres in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, is due to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
The first incident happened on the afternoon of February 7 after a 59-year-old man parked his brown Skoda alongside Starlight Bedrooms in Bloomfield Road, Farnworth, Bolton.
A raider struck as the man left his keys in the ignition and walked to the store.
The car owner managed to jump on to the bonnet but the thief carried on regardless, driving at accelerating speeds and eventually flinging the man off the bonnet and into the road.
The second incident in Bloomfield Road happened on Wednesday at about 5:35pm.
A 44-year-old man was shutting up a business premise when a thief jumped into his BMW and drove off.
The owner ran to his car and attempted to drag the thief out of his car.
He was unsuccessful and knocked to the ground as the offender drove off, police said.
