A 50-year-old man has been arrested after going into a bank and dousing himself in petrol.

Police in Bromley, south-east London said that the man entered Metro Bank in the High Street and covered himself and the bank in the flammable liquid.

Cordons were put in place while officers and firefighters made the area safe.

According to the local police Twitter feed @MPSBromley, the incident was not being treated as terror-related.
