Man in court over Jersey murders
A 30-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murders of six people including his wife and two children.
Damian Rzeszowski is accused of killing Izabela Rzeszowska, 30, along with their children Kinga, five, and two-year-old Kacper.
He appeared at Jersey's Royal Court in the capital St Helier where he was also charged with the murders of his wife's father Marek Garstka, 56, her friend Marta Dominika De La Haye, 34, and her five-year-old daughter Julia Frances.
Detectives waited for nearly two weeks to question Rzeszowski about the attacks in Victoria Crescent, St Helier, on August 14.
He has been receiving treatment in hospital as he is believed to have repeatedly stabbed himself in the chest following the incident.
Post-mortem examinations carried out on the six victims, who were Polish, confirmed they all died from stab wounds.
A spokeswoman for States of Jersey Police said Rzeszowski will appear at the court again on October 28.
