A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 58-year-old woman, police said.
Brian Mason, 65, is accused of killing Gillian Rennie, who was found stabbed to death at a house in Birmingham on Thursday.
Officers from West Midlands Police found her body after forcing entry to the property in Croydon Road, Erdington.
Mason, from Erdington, was charged on Friday night. Magistrates in Birmingham remanded him in custody for a second court appearance on a date to be fixed.
A police spokesman said: "The family (of the victim) have asked for privacy during this difficult period."
