Man remanded on stab murder charge
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed in the heart on the UK's busiest shopping street, police said.
Seydou Diarrassouba, 18, was killed on Boxing Day after a fight broke out at the Foot Locker store in London's Oxford Street.
Thulani Khumalo, 20, was later charged with his murder.
Relatives of Mr Diarrassouba, from Mitcham, south west London, paid tribute to the teenager following his death, saying: "Seydou kept us upright and now we feel weak as we have lost a very special part of us.
"Life seems meaningless without our special son and brother."
Seven males - two aged 22, three aged 16 and others aged 17 and 20 - have been arrested and bailed in connection with the police probe.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said Khumalo, of Etherley Road, in Haringey, north London, appeared at Hendon Magistrates' Court, north west London.
He was remanded in custody for a hearing at the Old Bailey on Friday.
