Manchester United midfielder Anderson was yesterday recovering after a car crash in Portugal saw him admitted to hospital.
Reports suggest the Brazilian star was pulled from the burning wreckage of a £100,000 Audi in the early hours of Saturday morning after the vehicle hit a wall and flew 100ft through the air.
Despite the dramatic accounts of the crash, the three occupants of the car received only “light” injuries, a spokesman for St Mark's hospital in Braga said.
He added that the trio — Anderson and two friends, were released within hours of arriving at the centre.
It is not believed Anderson, whose full name is Anderson Luis de Abreu Oliveira, was driving the car at the time.
