Meghan Markle reveals love for roast chicken and vegan leather trousers

She said that there was “nothing as delicious” as serving up a roast chicken at dinner parties.

Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle has revealed that her signature dish is a traditional British roast.

The star of the US legal drama Suits – who has been dating Harry for 10 months – said in an interview featured in Good Housekeeping magazine that there was “nothing as delicious” as serving up a roast chicken at dinner parties.

Markle also chatted about her go-to work wardrobe – citing vegan leather cropped trousers as among her favourites.

The 35-year-old LA-born actress brought an abrupt end to her lifestyle blog last month in what was seen as a sign that she may be getting ready to marry into the royal family.

Royal watchers are also hoping to see her accompany Harry to the wedding of the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton in Berkshire on May 20.

Markle said: “There is nothing as delicious – or as impressive – as a perfectly roasted chicken. It’s a game changer. I bring that to dinner parties and make a lot of friends.”

Speaking about filming Suits in Canada, she said: “My wardrobe for my part in Suits isn’t like Working Girl – dressing for work doesn’t have to be so on-the-nose these days.

“The key is to have your own point of view attached to it. Personally, I love cropped pants in vegan leather, a great fitted blazer and a button-down (shirt).”

Markle, who used to be a calligrapher, has often spoken of her love of handwritten letters.

“I think handwritten notes are a lost art form. When I booked my first (TV) pilot, my dad wrote me a letter that I still have.

“The idea of someone taking the time to put pen to paper is really special,” she said.

In the photoshoot, Markle is shown in a floor-length white lace dress, navy and white striped dress, and a navy and pink floral crop top with matching skirt.
