Michelle Obama’s memoir to be released in November

The book will go on sale in November this year and will be released in 24 languages.

Michelle Obama’s memoir, Becoming, will hit shelves in November.

The former First Lady of the United States described writing the book as a “deeply personal experience”, and said she hoped it would encourage others to become who they want to be.

It will be released globally on November 13 in 24 languages and will be published by Viking, an imprint of Penguin Books at Penguin Random House UK.

Mrs Obama said: “Writing Becoming has been a deeply personal experience. It has allowed me, for the very first time, the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life.

“In this book, I talk about my roots and how a little girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others.

“I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be. I can’t wait to share my story.”

In the memoir Mrs Obama chronicles the experiences that have shaped her, including her childhood years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, and her time spent at the White House as the wife of former US president Barack Obama.

The print edition will have a recommended retail price of £25 in the UK and the digital edition will be priced at £11.99.
