Millennial railcards sell out within hours
The cards offer a third off rail travel for those aged 26-30.
New millennial railcards have sold out within hours of being released after “unprecedented demand”.
The website selling the discount card crashed when 10,000 went on sale on Tuesday morning and they sold out later the same day.
Rail Delivery Group apologised to those who were unable to buy the card and said it will “carefully consider” the response.

A spokesman said: “The 10,000 quota of 26-30 Railcards, made available as part of the national trial, have now sold out.
“A key commitment in the rail industry’s long-term plan to change and improve is to boost communities by enabling more people to travel by train, so we will consider carefully the unprecedented demand we’ve seen as part of this trial.”
Passengers across Britain aged 26-30 are eligible for the discount card for the first time.
Chancellor Philip Hammond said in his Budget speech in November that the railcards would give “4.5 million more young people a third off their rail fares”.
But only 10,000 were initially made available while the scheme is trialled to assess the impact on revenue and passenger numbers.
The cards cost £30 each year and save a third off most fares.
There are no discounts on season tickets and a £12 minimum fare applies to all journeys between 4.30am and 10am, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The card must be downloaded on to a smartphone and is aimed at leisure travellers. It was previously only available to a limited number of people in East Anglia.
Passengers were hit with the largest annual fare rise in five years on January 2, with average ticket prices across Britain increasing by 3.4%.
