Mo Farah sets his sights on Glasgow

By Lucy Christie

Double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah has confirmed he will compete in this year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The addition of Farah is likely to further fuel the demand for tickets, which organisers have said is "unprecedented".

The 31-year-old athlete told his one million Twitter followers: "Hi guys! I will be running in the Commonwealth Games this year..!! See you in Glasgow..!! Shabba....!!"

Farah has not yet revealed which events he will compete in at Hampden Park. He could attempt the same double as he achieved in the Olympic Stadium in London 2012 in the 5,000 metres and 10,000m. But it is unlikely he will try the marathon after he finished eighth on his debut in the gruelling event in London last month.
