Moors murderer Ian Brady's hunger strike ‘is a put on’
Moors murderer Ian Brady eats toast every morning despite claiming to have been on hunger strike since 1999, his mental health tribunal has heard.
Brady (75) has brought the tribunal because he believes he is not mentally ill and wants to be transferred from Ashworth psychiatric hospital to a normal prison, where he believes he will be able to starve himself to death.
But charge nurse Mark Sheppard told a judge that while the child killer continued to be fed through a tube in his nose he was eating other foods. “Most days we observe Ian eating,” he said.
