Murder probe after two stab deaths

Detectives have launched a double murder inquiry after a man and woman were found dead with stab wounds, Scotland Yard said.

Police were called to a property in New Road, Harlington, west London, on Wednesday after being alerted by someone concerned about the welfare of the pair.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and discovered the bodies of a man and woman, both aged 20, at the premises. They appear to have suffered stab wounds."

The victims have not yet been formally identified and no arrests have been made by the homicide and serious crime command, which is investigating.

Four houses in New Road have been cordoned off and a police car and three white vans were parked outside.

The address is close to Heathrow Airport and the properties are located directly behind the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow Hotel and Convention Centre, with the rear gardens backing on to the hotel's secure gated car park.

A bouquet of flowers has been laid on a nearby wall.

The road has a mixture of residential and commercial premises.

Nearby businesses include Europcar car rental and Unite union offices.

Police asked anyone with information to call the incident room at Barnes on 020 8247 7821 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
