Ordeal of stab mum's bloodied son

By Dave Higgens

A nine year-old boy ran out of house covered in blood and screaming for people to help his mother and siblings, neighbours have said.

But the boy's 37-year-old mother, Emma Siswick, died after the stabbing incident in Huddersfield on Sunday which also her 11-year-old son badly injured.

Officers said the children are still in a serious condition but their lives are not thought to be at risk. Her nine-year-old son was found outside the property with a stab injury to his arm.

Ms Siswick was found with a serious stab wound at the terraced house and she was taken to hospital but died.

A 39-year-old man detained by police remains in hospital, West Yorkshire Police said.
