A pilot has suffered burns and impact injuries after his glider crashed into overhead power lines.
Emergency Services were called to the A5199 Cold Ashby Road in Thornby, Northamptonshire, just before 4pm on Sunday, where the aircraft had hit the cables.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "Emergency services responded to find a single glider having impacted overhead power lines before landing.
"This caused severe damage to the aircraft and injuries to the pilot.
"The pilot's injuries are burns and impact injuries and he has been airlifted to Walsgrave Hospital."
The man was transported to Walsgrave Hospital via an air ambulance.
Central Networks said the crash cut power to 287 homes in the area, but power had been restored to all properties within five hours of the incident.
