Police name woman found dead from head and neck injuries

A woman murdered in an upmarket private street has been named by police.

Sonita Nijhawan, 38, was found dead at a house in the upmarket St George's Hill area of Weybridge on Saturday morning, Surrey Police said.

A preliminary post mortem showed she died from head and neck injuries, the force said.

Detectives are continuing to question a 46-year-old man in connection with the killing in Crossfield Place, which backs onto the exclusive private St John's Hill estate.

Police went to the house after being alerted by an ambulance crew shortly after 10am on Saturday.
