Police probe death of Sussex cricketer Matt Hobden

By PA Reporters

Police are investigating the death of Sussex cricketer Matt Hobden.

The fast bowler (22) was found dead at a private property in the Forres area on the Moray coast near Inverness on Saturday.

He studied at university in Cardiff before turning his focus to a cricket career, playing frequent first-class and limited-overs matches for Sussex over the past two seasons.

He was earmarked for a bright future in the game and was one of six pacemen who were chosen to take part in the Potential England Performance Programme this winter.

Police Scotland said the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
