Princess Diana’s record collection up for sale
Princess Diana’s signature on a youthful record collection is expected to raise thousands of pounds on an online auction.
As a teenager at boarding school, Diana Spencer wrote her name on 19 vinyl records so they could be identified among her friends’ collections but that simple label has ensured their worth as collectors’ items.
The records are being sold anonymously through PFA Auctions after it was revealed they were bought at an upmarket car boot sale for £6 in 2004 from a woman whose daughter had roomed with Diana at West Heath School, according to the Irish Daily Mail.
PFC Auctions said the 19 records, including Bob Dylan’s Hard Rain and several Beethoven classics, had Diana’s name written over them 27 times, on the front, the back and even the inner sleeve of some of them.
