Probe after street attack man dies

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 25-year-old man found lying in a street.

The man was discovered in Clifton, Nottingham at around 1.15am on Saturday morning with serious injuries.

He was taken to the city's Queen's Medical Centre but could not be saved.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out later.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said a 35-year-old woman had been arrested and remained in custody.

Parts of Hartness Road - where the man was found - have been closed while a forensic examination is carried out. Police will also be conducting house-to-house inquiries.
