Queen has a 'small footed person' on staff to break in her new shoes

By Caitlin McBride

The Queen recently hired a "small footed person" to break in her new shoes for her in order to avoid blisters, cuts or any of the other delights that come from wearing a new pair of shoes.

According to the Evening Standard, the 90-year-old monarch recently hired someone to break in her shoes for her, although it's believed this was a recently vacated position and not one recently created.

Designer Stewart Parvin, who has worked with the Queen for 11 years said the staff member breaks in shoes while wearing a pair of beige cotton ankle socks and walk only on carpet while stomping around Buckingham Palace.

"The shoes have to be immediately comfortable … she does get someone to wear them. The Queen can never say ‘I’m uncomfortable, I can’t walk any more," he said.

"She has the right to have someone wear them in."
