Scotsman is flying with £7m lottery win

By Paul Ward

A painter and decorator has won more than £7 million in a Lottery rollover.

The man from Edinburgh, who has not yet been named, had the winning ticket for Saturday's draw.

He is to collect £7,084,472 and will celebrate his win and discuss what he plans to spend it on in the Scottish capital today.

He joins a list of Scottish jackpot winners, including Chris and Colin Weir who won £161m on the Euromillions lottery in 2011.

The Weirs have established a charitable trust and donated millions of pounds to community projects but their contribution of £5.5m to the Scottish independence campaign has received the most attention.
