Search for brothers missing in the Highlands

Alan and Neil Gibson failed to return from a hill walk with dog Archie on Thursday.

Searches are under way to locate two missing hillwalkers in the Highlands.

Brothers Alan Gibson, 56, and Neil Gibson, 63, set off on a walk at around 7.45am in Strathcarron, Wester Ross on Thursday.

They failed to return that night and were reported missing.

It is understood the pair, who have a black Pointer dog called Archie with them, were planning to walk in the Achnashellach area.

Land and air searches are being carried out by the Torridon, Kintail, and RAF Mountain Rescue Teams, search and rescue dogs and Stornoway Coastguard helicopter.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
