Sheeran and Angels put on a show
Ed Sheeran found himself in heaven tonight as he performed at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in London with his friend Taylor Swift, surrounded by a host of model Angels.
The underwear models known as Victoria's Secret Angels brought their fashion extravaganza to the UK for the first time - strutting the catwalk in Earl's Court in sexy lingerie while guests were treated to performances from Sheeran, Swift, Hozier and Ariana Grande.
Sheeran said ahead of the show: "It's weird, it's one of the only times I've ever played where the attention isn't on the musicians, so it's an odd thing."
He revealed he had been hanging out with the Angels backstage and had just enjoyed a glass of tequila.
The singer added: "They are all wandering around. They're friendly. I expected them not to be as friendly but they are very friendly."
VIP guests enjoying the show included Spice Girl Mel B, Simon Le Bon with wife Yasmin and daughter Amber, and Liam Payne of One Direction.
Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick managed to blag a ticket after posting a begging appeal on Instagram.
He said: "It's going to be great, I'm really looking forward to it."
Flying the flag for Britain were 24-year-old model Jourdan Dunn and 27-year-old Lily Donaldson, both London-born and making their third appearance with the Angels.
Veteran Angels on the catwalk included Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, both 33 and from Brazil, taking part in their 15th Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
Other well known Angels are Nambibian-born Behati Prinsloo, 25, the wife of Maroon 5 rocker Adam Levine, while Lily Aldridge, 29, is the wife of Kings Of Leon frontman Caleb Followill.
Victoria's Secret was founded by Californian businessman Roy Raymond and his wife Gaye in 1977 after he admitted being daunted buying lingerie for her and wanted to create an environment men could feel comfortable to shop in.
The name was inspired by Queen Victoria - suggesting a veil of respectability pulled over 'secrets' hidden underneath.
