Solicitor in dock after fight with her sister
A defending solicitor found herself needing legal representation following a drunken fight with her sister over a family will.
Gail Evans appeared before magistrates in Cardiff where she pleaded guilty to one count of assault.
The court heard the 53-year-old came to blows with her estranged sibling Janyl Willis at a pub in Swansea.
Prosecutor Bethan Evans said there was a "long history" between the two and they had not spoken to each other in years.
However, on March 12 the pair happened to meet each other by chance in a pub.
Throughout the course of the evening dirty looks and insults were exchanged – with tempers boiling over as they left the ladies' toilet.
Ms Evans said: "The defendant was drinking at the time, while the complainant says she wasn't."
CCTV footage of the 51-second fracas showed Gail Evans pulling her sister's hair as the fight spilled out of the pub toilet before a "scrummage" between the two.
The court heard Ms Willis later suffered a dislocated shoulder.
