Sue Perkins: My shock over infertility
Great British Bake Off co-host Sue Perkins said it felt like "bereavement" to hear cancer meant she couldn't have children.
The writer and comedian was told she was infertile in 2007 when doctors discovered a benign brain tumour.
Perkins (45), who is now in a relationship with documentary-maker Anna Richardson, kept news of her diagnosis a secret for eight years, breaking her silence this summer.
She said: "It really did hit me, as it hits a lot of people, I'm sure, when it's too late, this is not going to happen.
"I can't now have it as an out-of-sight, out-of-mind possibility, lurking. It's not going to ever be part of my life."
