Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice looks set to miss out on a place in the top 10 biggest superhero films in UK history.
The movie saw its box office sales slump by 68% in only its second week in British cinemas.
It has now taken £27.8m in the UK, enough to make it one of the biggest movies of the year so far.
But if audiences continue to fall, Batman v Superman stands little chance of joining the ranks of the UK's most successful superhero films.
It would need to make more than £30.6m to enter the top 10, overtaking 2013's Man Of Steel.
Rival superhero film Deadpool, still playing in UK cinemas, is already in the top 10 at number eight, with combined ticket sales of £37.6m.
The world struggles to come to terms with the arrival of Metropolis' modern-day messiah, Superman (Henry Cavill). A committee led by Senator June Finch (Holly Hunter) asks uncomfortable questions about the god-like protector and his ability to crush humanity.
