Thieves steal photographs of Coleen Rooney's late sister

Coleen Rooney has revealed that sentimental photos of her late sister were stolen from her brother's car.

The star, who is married to footballer Wayne Rooney, posted on Twitter about the theft of her brother's laptop, which contained photos of her sister Rosie McLoughlin, who died in 2013.

She said the car had been broken into while it was parked outside the David Lloyd gym in Speke, Liverpool.

She wrote: "Please be aware off a lot of car break ins at @DLLSpeke ... my brothers car got done Sunday and they took a laptop containing sentimental photos of his son and my sister Rosie.

"He's having no luck as the staff at @DLLSpeke being really difficult in helping him and to deal with."

The theft came just days after what would have been Rosie's 19th birthday.

Manchester United player Wayne paid tribute to his sister-in-law last week by sharing a photo of her on his Instagram page with the message: "Miss this face every day. Happy Birthday Rosie."

Rosie, who had Rett syndrome, was 14 when she died.

A spokesman for David Lloyd said: "We take security very seriously and we're very concerned to hear that this member's laptop was stolen from his car.

"We've been in contact with the member on several occasions since the theft to offer our support.

"The member was asking for the CCTV footage but due to data protection laws we are unfortunately unable to give it directly to him.

"We advised him to report the break-in to the police, who can then legally request the footage from us and the incident can be fully investigated.

"We are fully committed to helping this member in any way possible, and have tried to contact him again today to see if there is any other way that we can help to reunite him with his belongings.

"We'd would like to reassure our members that car break-ins are very rare at David Lloyd Speke, but do advise all our members not to leave items of high value in their vehicles."

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said the force had received a report that an Apple laptop had been stolen from a Range Rover Vogue parked outside the gym between 12pm and 1.30pm on Sunday.

He said efforts were being made to get CCTV footage of the incident.
