Three women arrested in rave probe

Three women have been arrested after police attending the scene of an illegal rave were attacked by a large crowd.

Officers from Lincolnshire Police were alerted to the incident by a member of the public complaining about loud noise and anti-social behaviour at around 11pm last night.

When they arrived in the area of Twyford Woods, just off the A1 near Bourne, they came under under attack from a large group of people.

One officer received serious but not life-threatening injuries while four others and a police dog were also hurt, Lincolnshire Police said.

Three women from Norfolk were arrested and police seized sound amplification equipment and generators.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the roads around Twyford Woods whilst enquiries continues.
