UK Uncut plans Christmas store demo

Direct action group UK Uncut plans to occupy high street shops on the Saturday before Christmas as part of its campaign against tax dodging, it has been announced.

The group said it will occupy Vodafone or Topshop stores on high streets across the UK on the busiest shopping day of the year.

UK Uncut said its supporters have been voting for over a week to choose the most popular "target", with Topshop and Vodafone topping the poll.

Organisers of the action in London said it will highlight the "slashing" of benefits, pensions and the winter fuel allowance, combined with rising heating bills.

They say they will keep their exact plans under wraps and will enter stores as shoppers in a bid to remain undetected by security staff.
