Woman (48) in court after Lord of the Dance brawl

By Pat Hurst

A woman has appeared in court after a brawl broke out at a theatre during a performance of Michael Flatley's Lord Of The Dance.

Trouble erupted in the orchestra stalls on the opening night of the high-kicking Irish dance extravaganza at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.

Police were called to reports of eight people fighting and arrested one woman for being drunk and disorderly and an assault on a constable.

Georgina Lynn Sixsmith (48), from Andrew Street, Middleton, Greater Manchester, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court yesterday and was bailed until May 10.

The trouble began around 9.20pm on Tuesday, the opening night in Manchester of Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games, choreographed by Irish dance superstar Michael Flatley.

The show is described as a high-energy, two-hour fusion of dance styles, from traditional Irish dance to tap, modern and Broadway involving a story of good versus evil, with a Hunger Games flavour.
