Woman plunged 80 feet 'trying to get rid of spider'
A 24-year-old woman who plunged 80 feet from a hotel balcony in Magaluf could have been among the number of recent similar deaths in the Majorcan resort - and all because of a spider.
Chantelle Serginson was left in intensive care with a fractured skull after her mum Kimberley, 44, revealed she lost her balance attempting to rid their shared room of the eight-legged creature.
Luckily, though, Mrs Serginson said her daughter had made a “brilliant” recovery and was “doing just fine” and was talking.
Others have not been so lucky - in the past six weeks, three British people have died falling from Magaluf hotels.
