Ulster estate agent in bid to win gay world title

A 22-year-old Northern Ireland businessman is hoping to be on top of the world tonight as he competes for the title of Mr Gay World Ambassador 2010.

Co Armagh’s Drew Hanna, who is the current Mr Gay Northern Ireland, is one of 24 delegates from around the world who have gathered in Oslo for the final of the international Mr Gay pageant.

The Lurgan part-time model says he is hoping that his participation in the contest will help put the gay community here on the map.

“I’m really excited to be here in Oslo and meet so many different nationalities,” said the estate agent. “I am hoping that by being here I will help raise the profile of the gay community in Northern Ireland, who feel they don’t have a voice, especially people living in rural areas.”
