Ulster Grand Prix: Tragedy as English rider Jamie Hodson dies at Dundrod

A rider who was involved in a crash in Thursday's Ulster Grand Prix has died, the Dundrod and District Motorcycle Club has confirmed.

Jamie Hodson, 35, from Wigan was involved in an incident at the 'Joey's Windmill' section of the circuit during the Dundrod 150 National race.

His brother Rob Hodson was involved in the same accident but is reported to have no serious injuries.

Jamie was an experienced rider and was the reigning Manx GP Supertwins champion.  This year he achieved a top 10 finish in the TT Lightweight race.

The Dundrod & District Motorcycle Club expressed its condolences to Jamie’s family and friends and requests that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
