Argentina to build Falklands museum
President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner said a new museum dedicated to the Falklands Islands will honour Argentinian marines killed trying to reclaim them from Britain 30 years ago.
Ms Kirchner announced details of the 20 million US dollar museum.
She said it would honour the more than 300 marines killed in the sinking of the warship Belgrano.
Diplomatic and commercial tensions are rising over the disputed islands, which Argentina calls the Malvinas, as next month's anniversary of the two countries' brief war over them approaches.
Ms Kirchner said the museum would be in the former navy school that served as a detention and torture centre during Argentina's 1976-1983 military dictatorship.
She said its inauguration was set for August 2013.
