At least 103 dead in India floods
More than 100 people have now been killed in flashfloods that have affected the remote mountainous region of Ladakh in Indian-held Kashmir.
State police chief Kuldeep Khoda said that 103 people have died as a result of the floods and more than 370 have been injured.
Police and soldiers have pulled out hundreds of people from the mud and debris that have buried hundreds of homes, but their efforts are hampered by gushing water and mud sweeping down from the mountainsides.
Telecommunication towers have toppled or are badly damaged while main highways connecting the popular tourist destination to the rest of Kashmir are only partially open.
