British woman killed by suicide bomber in Pakistan
A British woman, who converted to Islam, was killed by a suicide bomber after moving to Pakistan to be with her new husband.
Belinda Khan, from Porth, Rhondda, Wales, died when a blast ripped through a busy market in Mingora, the main city in the troubled Swat Valley.
Her life had been marked by tragedy — reports said her Pakistani first husband, Yahya Khan, was killed by the Taliban in 2008.
Mrs Khan had only returned to Pakistan on February 8 marrying her late husband's brother, Saeed Khan, the following day, according to The Guardian.
It is understood she was shopping in Mingora's market when the bomb went off yesterday.
“She came to have a second life with me. My family and I are missing her very much,” her new husband told The Guardian.
She was buried in a cemetery near her husband's family home in the village of Kuza Bandai yesterday, the paper reported.
The Guardian also said that Mrs Khan converted to Islam when she married her first husband.
