Briton, 63, missing on Egypt cruise

A 63-year-old man has gone missing while on a cruise ship holiday in Egypt.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of John Halford, of Greenleys, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

Mr Halford left Luton Airport on March 31 to join the Thomson cruise but when it finished in Sharm El Sheikh on April 7, he was not on board.

It is thought he went missing some time between 11.45pm on April 6 and 7.30am on April 7.

The spokesman said: "Thames Valley Police is growing increasingly concerned for John's welfare and is working with the Foreign Office in Egypt to find him as it is out of character for John not to make contact with his family.

"If you were on the cruise with John, or know where he might be, contact Thames Valley Police via the 24-hour police inquiry centre on 0845 8 505 505."

Mr Halford is described as white, 5ft 6in, of medium build, clean-shaven and has short grey hair.
