Chavez determined to beat cancer
Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez said he is optimistic he is beating cancer and that his hair should begin to grow back in the coming months as he finishes chemotherapy.
Mr Chavez has spoken at a televised event with indigenous people who prayed and sang for his health.
The Venezuelan leader underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumour from his pelvic region in June.
He has said the chemotherapy aims to prevent any malignant cells from reappearing.
Mr Chavez said that "with the grace of God... (the cancer) went away and will never again return".
He joked that he expects to have "an afro" in December or January.
He has appeared with his head shaved since early August after his hair began to fall out due to the treatment.
