China probe in EU trade dispute
China says it has launched a trade probe of European solar-grade polysilicon in the latest of a series of disputes with the United States and European Union (EU).
The Ministry of Commerce said it will investigate whether the EU is improperly subsidising its producers of polysilicon or dumping their products in foreign markets.
The probe is the latest in a series of disputes between China and its trading partners over market access and trade conditions for steel, solar panels, auto parts and other goods.
It follows the EU's launch in September of an anti-dumping probe of Chinese solar panels following complaints by European producers.
