China tycoon 'speaks at meeting after disappearance'

A Chinese tycoon whose company said he was assisting an investigation after he disappeared for a day last week has emerged to speak at a corporate meeting, according to reports.

Guo Guangchang, chairman of the Fosun conglomerate that owns France's Club Med, spoke on Monday at the previously scheduled Fosun event, newspaper China Business News and other outlets reported.

The newspaper reported Mr Guo talked about the need to expand globally but gave no indication whether he mentioned the investigation.

Fosun suspended trading of its shares after a business magazine reported it was unable to contact Mr Guo.

The company issued a statement later on Friday saying Mr Guo was assisting in an unspecified investigation.
