Former PM Blair in talks with Obama

US president Barack Obama is due to meet former prime minister Tony Blair in a private session.

The stalled Middle East peace process is a likely topic for discussion between Mr Blair and Mr Obama.

Mr Blair is the Middle East envoy for international mediators who failed last week in their latest attempt to bring Israeli and Palestinian officials back to the bargaining table.

Later, Mr Obama will sign an executive order the White House describes as part of his "We Can't Wait" campaign to help the US economy.

Saying the US cannot wait for Congress, Mr Obama has begun taking unilateral steps that he says will encourage economic growth. The actions do not require congressional approval.
