An Irishman was arrested after he was caught on camera engaging in a public sex act that appeared on Thai television.

The pair were named by Thai police as 24-year-old Irishman known as Sullivan and an American called Natalie (21) who was a foreign exchange student.

According to the Krabi police the pair turned themselves into police after realising the video went viral and police were searching for them.

The two were charged for public nudity and acting inappropriately in public.

They were fined 2,000 baht each which is approximately  €50.

They said they were drunk at the time and stopped once locals approached them.

The pair are understood to have been outside the The Hussin House Hotel when a local man became angry with them.

The Irishman responds, “I apologise” while putting his hands together.

The locals then threaten to call the police and tell the couple to stay where they are.

In the video they are asked where they are from and the man replies that he is from Ireland while the woman says she is American.

The clip first appeared on and it has sparked a huge reaction online.
